LA Cars Ticketed on Street Sweeping Days when Roads Aren't Swept - LAist -
USC Broadcast Journalism student Matt Schrader has spent the last three months investigating parking tickets issued for violating street sweeping hours. He finds that tickets are often given on days when sweepers never come by. No surprise there.
To boot, he gets officials on the record agreeing with him: tickets shouldn’t be issued if the city has no reason to.
I FUCKING KNEW IT. I’ve held this suspicion for close to two years, but never had any confirmation.

LOS ANGELES COMMUNITY ALERT:
Don’t valet your car at the parking lot just to the east of The Coffee Bean and across from The Red Rock bar on Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood.
They will steal from you. They took my girlfriend’s iPod when we parked there tonight. Of course, we didn’t realize it until later, when traffic was super thick heading west on just about every street — so driving back an hour or two to confront someone about stealing a little iPod would have been next to pointless.
Pass it on!
Oy, LA.

Sunset from the Griffith Park Observatory.
I went here the first weekend I moved to LA, over four years ago. The observatory itself was under renovation at the time, so I hiked up the nearby trail where I glimpsed my first aerial view of the city of Los Angeles. Griffith Park and the Observatory will always hold a special place in my heart.
